Abstract: This lecture considers the past 60 years of social and cultural anthropological research in Central Asia explores what has held the field back for so long, and why and how it has become so productive in the past decade. I seek to stimulate a conversation about the value and potential of anthropology of Central Asia, and the reasons it has been slow to develop as an academic field.

Two distinguished Norwegian Professors from Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) will teach at Economics program of AUCA.

The AUCA educational programs are designed to provide students with hands-on learning that produce long-lasting memories. It is no surprise that field trips, which enrich the learning process with practical experience, play an important role in the AUCA EM&SD program.

University of St. Andrews, UK, St Andrews, with assistance of RangeRover fund, gives to young scientists from the countries of Central Asia an opportunity of three-months stay in St Andrews for the purpose of preparation of the publication on the subject chosen at own discretion in the field of socially economic situation of the country. The beginning of the program is planned for September, 2017. Conditions of participation in the program: 1. Nationality or permanent residence in the countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan or the Kyrgyz Republic). 2. The ended higher education. 3. While AUCA gives students opportunities to learn language, Professor Dinara Omorova supports her students to engage with the community of native speakers for the language she’s teaching.

IOM Central Asia in partnership with TSPC (AUCA) is launching PhotoStory Project “Migrants: An Invisible Force in Central Asia”.
The project include two elements: photography and story writing and invites University Students and Artists/Photographers (citizens of Central Asia) to submit photographs.
The theme aims to draw attention and stimulate dialogue around the theme of migration through powerful photography, story writing and open discussions with government and non-government stakeholders, societies and communities.
